Regular fundraising events
Here is a list of the regular fundraising events you can look forward to and participate in for the coming year. If you have any ideas, or wish to organize a fundraiser for our work, then please contact us at any time.
There has been a flurry of offers and reorganization occurring since the earthquake last week. This page will be updated as fundraising events take shape and are confirmed.
Walkathon – 10am, April 29, 2012. The annual walkathon will follow its usual route from Cherrywood Avenue and Vaughan Rd. to Sunnyside beach where everyone will be greeted with a BBQ. Any and all are invited to participate. This is a great chance for everyone to get to know each other. Supporters, family and friends get to meet the participants on the trip and for participants its a good opportunity to meet all the supporters of TWA. This event goes on rain or shine. For fundraising sheets, please click this linkĀ http://imgur.com/OX0w4 and save the image. If the link doesn’t work, please email John or Bridget.
You also have the option to use this event to raise money for TWA projects or your trip. Just get someone to sponsor you for the walk.

Chocolate Almond sales – “Sinful food for a spiritual cause.” Individual volunteers have the option of selling chocolate covered almonds. If you want to sell or buy a box or two… or three… then contact us. This is a chance for individual volunteers who are coming on the trip to help subsidize part of the cost of their trip. $22.00 from each box sold will go toward your costs on the trip OR you can contribute the money toward TWA projects.

Caeli Plays for Haiti
Caeli Plays for Haiti – On Friday, December 23rd, 2011 at 12pm, Caeli C. brought her guitar and her spirit down to Dundas Square, Toronto, to help raise money for Haiti. The idea came from one of her friends when they dared her to dress up in Christmas colours and go down to Dundas Square singing Christmas carols. Caeli posted a status update requesting 25 “likes” before she did the dare. Sadly for her, she got over 115 likes. She decided to make the trip downtown more worthwhile.
Caeli ended up talking with John of TWA asking if he liked the idea of her raising money for Haiti. He liked it and they agreed on putting all the money raised towards Third World Awareness.
After standing out in the cold for 3 hours, Caeli ended up raising over $250 by playing and singing Christmas carols for fellow Torontonians.
She has been thinking about making this an annual event, giving all the money raised towards TWA.
